Study in Australia

World-Class Education. Extraordinary Lifestyle. A Clear Path Forward.

Why Australia?

Australia occupies a rare position in global higher education. It is one of only a handful of countries that combines consistently top-ranked universities, an English-speaking environment, a high quality of life, and a structured post-study career pathway — all in one place.
Australia is ranked third worldwide for the number of international students, after only the United States and the United Kingdom. That’s not coincidence — it’s a reflection of what the country consistently delivers: academic prestige, career opportunity, and a lifestyle that genuinely supports student wellbeing.

The Group of Eight — Australia’s Ivy League

Before diving into courses, it’s worth understanding what makes Australia’s top universities genuinely special.

The Group of Eight (Go8) is an alliance of Australia’s most research-intensive universities — sometimes referred to as the Ivy League of the US or the Russell Group of the UK.

Go8 universities produce 70% of Australia’s university research output, receive 71% of Australian competitive grant funding, and have 99% of their research rated as world-class or above. They educate more than half of Australia’s doctors, dentists, vets, and science graduates.

Post-Study Work Visa — The Subclass 485

Australia’s post-study work visa, formally the Temporary Graduate Visa (Subclass 485), is one of the most valuable in the world — and Indian students have a specific advantage here.

Standard Duration by Qualification

The length of stay on Australia’s post-study work visa ranges from 18 months up to 4 years, depending on your qualification level and nationality, provided your course is CRICOS-registered.

The Indian Advantage — AI-ECTA Agreement

This is a significant benefit that many students aren’t aware of. Under the Australia-India Economic Cooperation and Trade Agreement (AI-ECTA), Indian graduates may receive up to 1 year of extra stay on their post-study visa, bringing the total to 3 years for all Master’s graduates and 4 years for PhD graduates.

While general rules have tightened, Indian students pursuing Master’s degrees still get 3 years of work rights a full year more than many other international students. This is a significant advantage.
